Prof. Amal Alhashem is a Consultant Pediatrician in Clinical Genetics and Metabolic Medicine and Chair of the Department of Genetics and Metabolic Medicine at King Fahad Specialist Hospital–Dammam. She heads the Genetics Department at Seha Virtual Hospital and the Genetic Centers at the Ministry of Health, and is Professor of Genetics at Alfaisal University. She has authored more than 120 publications focused on birth defects and genetic disease prevention.
